Hall Manager
- Annual Salary: £28,598 - £30,518 plus London Weighting
- Job Type: Full-time, includes evening and weekend work
My client is looking for a Hall Manager/Caretaker to join their team. This role is crucial in providing excellent facilities to customers, ensuring they receive good value in a vibrant and well-managed environment. The position involves a variety of maintenance, security, and cleaning duties and requires a flexible, self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage site security and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular safety checks, including fire and intruder alarms, window locks and emergency lighting.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks to prepare halls for use, ensuring they are safe and welcoming.
- Act as a key point of contact for hirers, providing necessary support and ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
- Coordinate with the other staff members to manage bookings and ensure smooth operation of events.
- Undertake general 'handyman' tasks and liaise with contractors for major repairs.
- Secure premises at the end of each shift, ensuring all sites are safe.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Good communication skills and the ability to handle situations with tact and empathy.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in security, maintenance, caretaking and cleaning of multi-use buildings.
- Proactive and able to initiate quality service within available resources.
- Knowledge of facilities management and building cleaning procedures.
- Full UK Driving License is essential.
- Desirable: Experience in minor building maintenance, administrative record keeping and managing financial transactions. Health and safety, first aid and safeguarding training are advantageous.
