Hall Manager

My client is looking for a Hall Manager/Caretaker to join their team. This role is crucial in providing excellent facilities to customers, ensuring they receive good value in a vibrant and well-managed environment. The position involves a variety of maintenance, security, and cleaning duties and requires a flexible, self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage site security and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, including fire and intruder alarms, window locks and emergency lighting.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks to prepare halls for use, ensuring they are safe and welcoming.
  • Act as a key point of contact for hirers, providing necessary support and ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with the other staff members to manage bookings and ensure smooth operation of events.
  • Undertake general 'handyman' tasks and liaise with contractors for major repairs.
  • Secure premises at the end of each shift, ensuring all sites are safe.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to handle situations with tact and empathy.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in security, maintenance, caretaking and cleaning of multi-use buildings.
  • Proactive and able to initiate quality service within available resources.
  • Knowledge of facilities management and building cleaning procedures.
  • Full UK Driving License is essential.
  • Desirable: Experience in minor building maintenance, administrative record keeping and managing financial transactions. Health and safety, first aid and safeguarding training are advantageous.
