Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Overview: As a Mechanical Project Manager (PM), you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, taking ownership of the entire process from initial business development to project delivery. In this role, you will lead all aspects of mechanical system design, specifically focusing on HVAC and other mechanical systems, ensuring successful project outcomes from start to finish. You will be expected to "hunt your own meat," meaning you'll be responsible for generating new business, designing and quoting projects, winning work, and delivering completed projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.

Attend meetings, presentations, and site visits to secure new contracts and expand client base.

Develop and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to grow the business pipeline.

Project Design and Engineering:

Lead the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects.

Develop detailed mechanical system designs, calculations, and specifications in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, and construction) to ensure designs meet project requirements and client expectations.

Quoting and Estimation:

Prepare accurate project estimates and quotations based on client requirements and project scope.

Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, and other related expenses, to provide competitive pricing while ensuring profitability.

Submit detailed proposals to clients, providing clarity on scope, timelines, and costs.

Project Execution:

Oversee the entire project from start to finish, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the client s satisfaction.

Coordinate and manage resources, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality performance.

Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to maintain timelines and budgets.

Ensure all project activities comply with relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Client and Stakeholder Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop strong relationships with clients to foster repeat business and referrals.

Provide regular project updates to clients and internal stakeholders.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

Lead and mentor project teams as required, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.

Work closely with internal teams, such as procurement, construction, and site management, to ensure seamless project delivery.

Quality Control and Compliance:

Ensure that all designs and installations comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Oversee quality control on-site, addressing any discrepancies or quality issues promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, with a focus on HVAC and mechanical systems design and implementation.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, estimating, and project management methodologies.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate project teams.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, etc.) and HVAC design tools.

Ability to work independently, with a proactive approach to business development and problem-solving.

Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Full-time position, based from Essex-based office with regular site visits.

Flexible to travel to client locations, project sites, and industry events may be required.
