About the Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) in Westminster, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with MLD, ADD, and ADHD.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Deep commitment to helping students with SEND.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) education preferred.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
