Community Centre Key Holder
- Location: Lambeth, London fully onsite
- Rate of pay: £14.80 per hour PAYE
- Job Type: Part-time temporary position (25 hours per week, mainly Saturdays, Sundays, and weekday evenings)
We are seeking two dedicated individuals to join a team as Community Centre Key Holders. This part-time, temporary position involves providing access to our community centres primarily during weekends and weekday evenings. The role is based in Lambeth and covers three community spaces.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Open and close community centres for events and activities, ensuring timely access for groups.
- Ensure the premises are prepared for hirers and that equipment such as tables and chairs are set up and stored away after events.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations during events and report any maintenance or repair issues.
- Perform light cleaning tasks, rubbish disposal, and occasionally allow access to contractors.
- Handle cash transactions for security deposits as needed.
- Conduct hirer inductions, explaining health, safety, and fire procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Flexible approach to work, with availability mainly on weekends and weekday evenings.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in using IT systems for booking and data management.
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a community centre or customer-focused environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols.
- A standard background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
