SEN Tutor with Makaton

Looking for a Dedicated SEN Tutor with Makaton Experience!

Are you an experienced SEN tutor with a passion for supporting learners?

We're looking for a compassionate and skilled tutor to work with a student for 10 hours a week, providing support in Maths and English. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Makaton and have a deep understanding of SEN needs to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support in Maths and English for a student with SEN.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual learning styles and needs.
• Use Makaton to support communication and enhance the learning experience.
• Develop engaging, accessible resources that promote independence and confidence.
• Maintain regular progress reports and communicate with parents or caregivers as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or adults with SEN.
• Proficiency in Makaton.
• Strong background in Maths and English.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Flexible and creative approach to tutoring.
