The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a well-rounded and established 'National Defence Sector Lead' to join our highly respected Strategic Accounts & Services (SAS) division operating on a national scale. This is an exciting time as we look to grow the front end of our business, and we are ideally looking for a candidate who has strong contacts across the Defence related sector nationally.

As the successful candidate, you will be passionate about driving business growth and have the expertise and network to make a significant impact. Identifying project opportunities nationally and have a proven track record in business relationship management and development within the Defence construction sector.

This will involve taking our offering to the market with credibility and energy, whilst offering advice and direction to the prospective client base. Being able to demonstrate that you can organise and plan activity to align with our strategic growth plans and be able to produce accurate reports and forecasts on progress.

It is essential that you are a highly motivated team player and proactive individual, able to develop an in-depth understanding of the WD Strategic Accounts & Services offering and generate your own leads across our Defence sector portfolios. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the WD service offering and generate own leads to maintain a 3-5-year pipeline of opportunities
  • Customer First Lead Generation: Effectively align Willmott Dixon's products and services to both new and existing customers to unlock projects and drive growth.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage all staff including the local Board in developing customer relationships and driving lead progression.
  • Identify and manage key defence customer accounts.
  • Represent the business nationally to develop networks and the Willmott Dixon profile.
  • Manage and attend numerous industry related events

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • Solid and proven experience working as a lead in business growth, with capabilities in driving and expanding our presence within the Defence construction sector
  • Proven ability to develop long term customer relationships to create growth opportunities
  • Ability to identify and qualify new business opportunities in line with strategic growth plans
  • Experience in supporting bids and proposals
  • Presentation skills to all levels of seniority from individuals to groups
  • Ability to create, manage and analyse data and reporting
  • Strong influencing skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Must be eligible to obtain SC level security clearance, as a minimum, to work on UK Defence related projects and bids

Desirable Criteria

  • Degree in Business Management or similar
