As part of the New Relationships strategy, we have identified the need to grow our network of industry influencers to help us secure long term, high value industry leading, transformational corporate partnerships - raising money and awareness for CRUK and delivering tangible commercial benefits for our partners. We plan to grow our Senior Adviser network to facilitate introductions, open doors to new opportunities, generate new innovative ideas and approaches, and provide expertise.
The Partnership Specialist (Corporate Board & Senior Volunteers) role will focus on three key areas:
1. Relationship managing our network of Senior Advisers and the CRUK Corporate Partnerships Board.
2. Developing & driving the Senior Adviser and Board strategy to support the 3 year plans and goals.
3. Establishing a clear and effective process of working, including mapping advisers' networks, processing team introduction requests, pro-actively adding to team pipelines based on adviser connections, tracking introductions made, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken.
Within the New Relationships Team this role will drive a co-ordinated Senior Adviser approach to guide the identification, recruitment, induction, management and stewardship of our increasing network, ensuring their journey with us is inspiring, professional and effective.
This role will support the development of best practice and a consistent approach to ensure we grow strong lasting relationships and maximise the opportunities our Senior Advisers and the Corporate Partnerships Board provide. Working closely with the Head of New Relationships, this role will enable and motivate the Corporate Partnerships Board Chair and members to help us realise our ambitious income goals over the next 3 years.
What will I be doing?
Relationship Management
Build and manage strong relationships with Senior Advisers on the Corporate Board and other individual Senior Advisers.
Ensure a professional and consistent recruitment, induction, management, and stewardship process for advisers.
Work with the Operations team to research prospective Senior Advisers and to identify engagement and stewardship opportunities for existing Senior Advisers, particularly in relation to CRUK's portfolio of engagement events
Communicate clearly and promptly with Senior Advisers, ensuring their introductions and expertise are utilised effectively.
Develop a robust process for identifying, mapping and tracking Senior Advisers' networks to spot opportunities for developing or strengthening relationships with companies already on the team pipeline or through adding new companies to the pipeline.
Strategy Development
Develop and drive the Corporate Partnership Senior Adviser and Board strategy to support our three-year plans and goals.
Create a clear process for working with the internal team and Senior Advisers, ensuring efficient handling of team introduction requests and tracking progress.
Maximise the content and impact of Corporate Board meetings, ensuring members have clear targets and are held accountable.
Ensure that Senior Advisers have the knowledge and resources needed to maximise their impact.
Build solid understanding of the New Relationships Team strategic objectives and priorities.
Internal Coordination
Educate the wider organisation about the role of Corporate Senior Advisers and the Corporate Board.
When appropriate, collaborate with the Philanthropy Team to identify opportunities for Senior Advisers to support philanthropic introductions. Additionally, support the Philanthropy Team to facilitate corporate introductions through individual philanthropists and the Global Campaign Leadership Board.
Grow our network of internal Senior Advisers through our Trustees, Global Campaign Leadership Board and member base.
Identify opportunities for Senior Advisers and the Corporate Board to support CRUK's wider objectives and priorities.
What are we looking for?
Evidence of developing influential relationships with high level individual stakeholders, through gravitas and leadership
Successful networker and proven success in developing and leveraging instrumental relationships (internal and external) to positively influence partnerships
Ability to handle multiple tasks and take an organised approach to ensure they are delivered in a timely and effective way
Proven track record in meeting and exceeding targets
Demonstrable passion for high value fundraising and corporate partnerships
A working knowledge of the principles of corporate fundraising, sponsorship and marketing
Excellent presentation, proposal and report-writing skills
Exceptional listening skills and effective written and communication skills.
