What you'll do:

As a Trade Assistant in this esteemed hedge fund environment, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of global markets by providing essential support to trading teams operating across various asset classes. Your day-to-day activities will involve meticulous oversight of trade capture processes, proactive issue resolution with front office professionals, and close collaboration with risk management and compliance teams. Provide comprehensive support to trading teams by ensuring accurate trade capture, confirmation, and settlement processes across multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, FX, Credit, Rates, and Equities. Collaborate closely with front office professionals to resolve trade discrepancies promptly and maintain high standards of operational accuracy. Monitor daily trade flows and proactively identify potential issues or breaks in the trade lifecycle to ensure timely resolution. Liaise with internal stakeholders such as risk management, compliance, operations, and technology teams to facilitate smooth end-to-end trade processing. Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to existing workflows. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market infrastructure changes and regulatory requirements relevant to trade support functions. Utilise advanced Excel skills and programming languages such as VBA or SQL to automate reporting tasks and streamline data analysis where possible. Support the implementation of new systems or upgrades by participating in user acceptance testing (UAT) and providing feedback on functionality. Demonstrate flexibility by adapting quickly to changing priorities in a fast-moving trading environment while maintaining attention to detail. Foster positive relationships with colleagues across departments by communicating clearly and working cooperatively towards shared goals.

Your academic background in a numerate discipline equips you with the analytical foundation needed for complex problem-solving. You have developed deep expertise in at least one core asset class whether it's Fixed Income, FX, Credit or Equities and possess an intricate understanding of how trades flow through front-to-back processes. Undergraduate degree in a numerate discipline such as mathematics, finance, economics or related field is required for this position. A minimum of five years' experience directly supporting trading teams within financial markets is essential for success in this role. In-depth understanding of at least one major asset class including: Rates, Credit, Fixed Income, ETDs, FX or Equities is necessary for effective performance. Comprehensive knowledge of hedge fund front-to-back processes along with familiarity with market infrastructure is expected from applicants. Proven track record in Trade Assistant or Trade Support roles within reputable financial institutions is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are vital for building strong relationships with colleagues across departments and external partners alike. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities is crucial for this fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required; experience with VBA or SQL programming languages would be advantageous for automating tasks.
