Senior Project Leader (maternity cover)
What you'll be doing

This is a unique opportunity to lead major capital projects at the heart of UK democracy. As a Senior Project Leader within the Strategic Estates Project Delivery Team, you'll take ownership of high-value refurbishment and conservation projects across the Parliamentary Estate, ranging from £5m to £100m.

You'll act as the informed client, representing project owners and boards, and ensuring successful delivery of complex programmes that support the operational and heritage needs of both Houses. You'll manage internal and external relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams, and oversee project governance, procurement, and assurance.

This role includes line management responsibilities and offers the chance to shape the future of a World Heritage site while working in a dynamic and high-profile environment.

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of spending a minimum of 40% of your time in the office.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a confident and experienced project leader with a strong technical background and a passion for public service. You'll bring:

  • A qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related technical subject (minimum Level 4), with chartership or a commitment to achieving it
  • Proven leadership experience delivering large-scale capital projects, ideally in heritage or complex environments
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of procurement, contract management, and financial oversight
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, particularly CDM 2015
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to stakeholder engagement and team leadership
