We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established main contractor based in Reading. The business is one of the biggest names in the UK Construction industry, with regional offices operating across the country. The contractor works across several sectors including research & development, education, commercial and defence sectors valuing up to 20mil administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract. Projects are predominantly based within Berkshire.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the commercial team on projects varying up to 20mil in size. You may be responsible for one smaller project, or may report into the Senior Surveyor on a larger scheme. You will be reporting into the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

• Involvement in pre-construction activities
• Sub-contract procurement
• Managing sub-contract packages
• Client valuations
• Dealing with sub-contractor variations
• Final accounts

Key Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor position:

• Have a HNC / Construction related degree
• Have held the position of Quantity Surveyor for 3+ years within a main contractor
• Proven track record of working on projects with JCT forms of contract (NEC is beneficial)
• Experience working on defence schemes is beneficial
• Due to the nature of the schemes, any applicant must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK AND be a British citizen / British passport holder.
