Operations Assistant - Warehouse & Driving

Salary: £27,500 - £30,000 per annum Bonus Scheme
Hours: Monday to Friday Shift Work Required
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence Required (25+ for Insurance)

About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and reliable Operations Assistant to support daily warehouse operations and driving duties within a busy import/export and fulfilment environment in Slough.
This role offers a dynamic mix of physical warehouse work, admin and systems support, and occasional driving to and from airport cargo sheds. It's ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting the job done, and is looking to build a long-term career in logistics.

Key Responsibilities
- Support operations across import, export, and fulfilment warehouse areas
- Pick, pack, process and label shipments accurately
- Complete courier and cargo collections from airport sheds (vehicle provided)
- Perform computer-based tasks including shipment processing and admin
- Maintain accurate filing systems and documentation
- Operate a forklift (training provided if required)
- Conduct general housekeeping and ensure Health & Safety compliance
- Carry out vehicle and equipment checks (van and forklift)
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet tight deadlines
- Report any incidents, near-misses or Health & Safety concerns promptly
- Assist with ad hoc tasks across departments as needed
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role (import/export preferred)
- Full UK Driving Licence - must be 25+ for insurance purposes
- Comfortable working shift patterns as required
- Basic understanding of export customs procedures
- Competent computer skills (shipment systems, basic admin tasks)
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work to time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training)
- X-ray screening qualification
- Passion for professional development and progression in logistics
Pre-Employment Requirements (for Permanent Offer)
- 5-year reference check and basic DBS
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Completion of Cargo Operative training (provided if needed)
