Job summary
Sitting at the heart of HM Land Registry's (HMLR's) Customer and Strategy Group and within the Strategy Hub, The External Affairs team brings the voice of the external world into the organisation through building and managing strategic external partnerships including HMLR's Land Registry Advisory Council and the cross-industry and government group the Digital Property Market Steering Group.
We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join as External Affairs Officer to help support our ambitions, bringing with them good organisational skills and the desire to learn.
This is an exciting time to join our team, as we seek to develop our function to continue support the delivery of our Business Strategy. The role will give exposure to the successful candidate both at a senior level within HMLR and with high-profile external audiences.
Job description
As part of your role, you will support the SEO Senior External Affairs Manager to deliver HMLR's External Affairs 'Community of Practice' through the administration of monthly meetings and an event/communications programme.
You will also support the External Affairs Team with project reporting and documentation responsibilities and the administrative delivery of industry groups such as the Land Registry Advisory Council and Digital Property Market Steering Group.
You will provide administrative support across the Strategy Hub, including diary management, meeting organisation and minute/notetaking as required, and the management of action logs and will act as 'point of entry' for queries from within HMLR, triaging questions, directing colleagues and stakeholders to guidance etc.
You will work with key internal teams to join-up stakeholder intelligence and maintain HMLR guidance and 'operating instructions' for its External Affairs service and Community of Practice, which includes administrating the Events / Overseas Events forms and maintaining guidance on our events and briefing service.
In addition, you will support the Senior External Affairs Manager to undertake sentiment tracking and analysis and maintain stakeholder maps and generate routine reports and presentations to include Board level dashboards and analysis reports.

Person specification
To be successful in this role, you will be a strong team player with the ability to respond quickly and positively to new developments in a rapidly changing environment.
You can manage a broad ranging workload with competing demands and are able to record and collate data accurately including experience of secretariat and minute-taking skills.
You will have experience of strong drafting, interpersonal and communication skills, and good working experience of using Word and PowerPoint skills.
