We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant and inclusive educational setting. Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring tailored support.
- Provide one-to-one support to students with a range of SEN, focusing on specific educational, social, and emotional needs.
- Adapt resources and strategies to meet the diverse needs of individual students, ensuring accessibility and engagement in learning activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to enhance the learning and development of SEN students, contributing to a cohesive educational team.
- Monitor and support the social and emotional development of students, acting as a positive role model and providing guidance.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons that are tailored to individual needs, enhancing learning outcomes.
- Encourage and support students in communicating their needs and ideas, fostering an environment of open communication and mutual respect.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with SEN students.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and the strategies that can assist in overcoming these challenges.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and dedication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children, tailored to their individual circumstances.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are advantageous, such as a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
