Workforce Coordinator - Mental Health Services
Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about ensuring safe and effective staffing in a healthcare environment? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Coordinator to join a fast-paced mental health service in Chelmsford.
This role is central to maintaining efficient rota management across multiple wards, supporting clinical teams, and ensuring staffing levels are optimised for safe, high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the internal rostering system for all wards
Work closely with Ward Managers to schedule rotas 8-12 weeks in advance
Fill shift vacancies through overtime, bank, and agency staff as needed
Liaise with approved agency suppliers and manage bookings in line with PSL requirements
Coordinate with HR and payroll to ensure accurate reflection of hours worked
Track and engage with bank staff to maintain availability and compliance
Provide regular staffing reports to senior leadership
Attend daily operational meetings and escalate any staffing risks
Handle administrative tasks related to scheduling, POs, and system updates
What You'll Need:
Previous experience in rota management (ideal, but not essential)
Healthcare or clinical workforce experience is a plus
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
Confident communicator who can collaborate with both clinical and operational teams
