We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at a school. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role requires a deep understanding of human physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to develop tailored therapy plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide therapy sessions to clients in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, and homes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and families to ensure holistic care.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate clients and their families about speech and language disorders and strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of client assessments, treatments, and progress reports.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to speech and language functions.
- Dysphagia experience
- Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and interventions.
- Understanding of anatomy relevant to communication processes.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Empathy and patience when working with clients of all ages.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
