Midday Supervisor

About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who likes working with young people. Experience preferred but not essential.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, flexible, and dedicated Midday Supervisor to support lunchtimes across the school as part of our dedicated professional team.

You would join a team who puts the young person at the centre of their considerations in our community of keen and highly able students.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Supervision of students immediately before, during and after the midday meal. This includes students who have a school meal as well as those who bring their own food.
  • Supervision of students entry to/ exit from the canteen building.
  • Supervision of students in the dining areas, or other area of the school as required, dealing with any incidents of inappropriate student behaviour in line with the school s Behaviour Management Policy.
  • To be firm, fair and consistent in any contact with students in order to achieve the level of discipline required to maintain order.
  • To support the afternoon registration of sixth form students.
  • To report to the Headteacher or lead duty member of the Senior Leadership Team for that day any serious incident occurring during the midday break, and complete any necessary paperwork.


The successful candidate will:

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate experience of working with children and have a commitment to promoting equality and diversity. The ideal candidate must be resilient, patient, and have good communication skills. They will be required to work as part of a team and use sound judgment and common sense.
