Location: Watford (Office-based)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,(Apply online only) - £35,(Apply online only) (Negotiable based on experience)

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company looking for an experienced Credit Controller to take ownership of their debtors book across three businesses, totaling around £3 million at any one time. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-driven, and able to build strong client relationships to improve cash flow and reduce overdue debt.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor outstanding debts across multiple businesses.

Prepare and issue daily client statements.

Track remittances and maintain up-to-date client records.

Allocate all incoming payments accurately.

Work towards weekly collection targets and improve debtor days.

Take a proactive approach to prevent overdue debt.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to speed up payments.

Work closely with the Commercial Director, providing detailed reports on:

Current debt position

Action plans for overdue accounts

Cash flow forecasts

Assist the Sales Ledger team with invoice generation and client queries.

What Were Looking For:

Previous experience in credit control (essential).

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Excellent communication & relationship-building skills.

A team player with the ability to work independently.

Innovative and solution-focused approach.

Xero experience is preferred but not essential.
