Job Requirements/Description

We are currently recruiting for a European Shipping Clerk to join a company in Bletchley. This is a temporary role that is required only until the end of January next year.

Please note: this role is FULLY office based.

The working hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

The primary responsibility of the Shipping Clerk is to manage the outbound orders and inbound orders from the external manufacturing site In Spain to the 3PL warehouse in France. The Clerk will be liaising with the freight forwarder and the warehouse, arranging the shipments in a timely manner, understanding and providing the required documentation, knowing and following the DOT and import/export regulations, and ensuring all system transactions are processed in a timely fashion

What you'll do:

  • Create and ensure the system driven documentation has been provided to our partners to ensure timely (OTIF).
  • Verify, adjust, and maintain records on outgoing/incoming shipments and perform all system transactions to accurately reflect transportation and inventory activities.
  • Communicate on a weekly/daily/hourly basis with the providers on orders (new, changed or cancelled).
  • Work closely with the provider, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality and Operations to ensure customer requirements are being met and elevate issues as they arise.
  • Interrogate data systems and generate reports for management reporting and using Microsoft Excel on a daily basis, to track order progress and analyse data.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain Departments and uk shipping team to provide daily support and absence cover when required.

  • Demonstrate a strong and independent work ethic with clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding and knowledge of warehouse and transportation operations and ERP systems.
  • Excellent grasp of system transactions and their impact to the organization.
  • Adapt at multitasking several high-profile projects and open to a fluid environment while managing time and delivering results.
  • Must be detailed oriented and results driven.
  • Good secondary education or degree, French language an advantage.
  • 2 years minimum experience in warehousing and transport a necessity.
