Hackney is seeking passionate and skilled Children Looked After Social Workers to join our dedicated team on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families, working within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Purpose of the Role

• You will provide a high-quality and effective social work service that responds to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner, within statutory guidelines.
• Your work will focus on safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes through assessment, planning, and direct intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct holistic assessments of children and families using interviews, observations, and multi-agency input.
• Analyse risk and protective factors within a child protection framework.
• Develop and implement care and intervention plans using systemic and social learning theory approaches.
• Manage Child Protection Plans and contribute to court reports.
• Ensure their voices are heard and reflected in all planning and reporting.
• Respond promptly and sensitively to concerns and complaints.
• Meet statutory responsibilities including visits, reviews, and court reporting.
• Collaborate with other agencies to deliver integrated services.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with SWE Reg
• Experience in children?s social care, ideally within a looked after children or safeguarding context.
• Commitment to Hackney?s values and safeguarding standards.
