Intervention - Teaching assistant

We are happy to advertise for an intervention TA in a lovely school in Waltham Forest. They are looking for a committed and successful Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their motivated team.
Job Purpose
To support small groups or individuals, who have been identified by their teachers to be in need of short-term intervention in maths and/or English.
Tasks and Expectations
- To liaise with the Teacher regarding content and delivery of intervention.
- To establish relationships with pupils to facilitate their learning.
- To develop and maintain professional relationships with parents and guardians to further support pupils, alongside the class teachers.
- To assist pupils with particular support required for reading, writing, spelling, understanding vocabulary and mathematical concepts.
- To assist in assessing and maintaining records of progress.
- The ability to use own initiative in sourcing resources and using software.
- To interact with, and to support, children in fostering an enthusiasm for learning and to promote pastoral care.
- To attend in-service training.
- To ensure that the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- The hours and duties are reviewed each July in readiness for the following September.
