Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a well-known company based in the South East London area who are looking for a highly skilled Revenues Operation Team Leader to join their team.
Main Purpose of the job - Revenues Operation Team Leader:
- To support the Revenues Operation Manger to deliver an excellent, customer focused and inclusive front line Council Tax service.
- To collaborate with the Revenues Operation Manager to deliver a prompt and efficient Council Tax service. This will include the responsibility for quality assurance, resource planning, discounts, exemptions to verify they are authentic. Where inappropriate awards or those obtained by deception are identified, take swift action to recover the debt.
- To assist the Revenues Operation Manager to ensure all operational aspects of Council Tax are administered proficiently to protect the income of the council.
Duties and Responsibilities - Revenues Operation Team Leader:
- Adapt the planned delivery of services to ensure changing community and customer needs.
- Monitor and review service outcomes ensuring effective delivery of personal and team objectives.
- Plan, deploy and co-ordinate people resources to meet changing operational needs.
- Ensure services meet statutory legislation, local strategies and polices.
- Ensure an understanding of the impact of your service on other functions.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the team to deliver an efficient and effective collection and review service. Conduct team briefings, one to one meetings and appraisals.
- Responsible for the daily management of staff to deliver the timely digitalisation of all Revenues and Benefits post ensuring service level agreements are met within the individual services.
- To assist and check the validity of council tax refunds requests.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Revenues and Benefits Management Team to ensure procedures are regularly reviewed in line with legislation and write clear and precise work instructions to deliver a seamless quality service.
- To collect data for staff to ensure quality and accuracy of processing and monitor KPIs to gauge output and analyse performance trends for the service and identify and implement service improvements.
- To assist the Revenues Operation manager to provide advice on complex council Tax queries, in relation to billing from the public or staff; also assist in the interpretation of complex legislation. To assist the Revenues Operation Manager in delivering adhoc mentoring and or training when required.
- Maintain a high level knowledge of all-relevant legislation, procedures and technology to meet the requirements of the post. Take responsibility for own personal and professional development.
- Ensure all action is taken by staff to maximise revenue collection, award discounts, exemptions & reliefs, and promote the take up of all welfare benefits and consider applications for hardship.
