Secondary - Religious Studies Teacher

Reed Education is representing a secondary school in Ashford that is seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced RE Subject Lead to join their team on a permanent basis from September.

The Role

As RE Subject Lead, you will be responsible for leading and developing Religious Education across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour. You will play a key role in curriculum development and staff support, contributing to the wider ethos and values of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the RE curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning within the department
• Support, manage, and mentor staff within the subject area
• Maintain strong behaviour management standards in and out of the classroom
• Monitor progress, attainment, and outcomes, taking action where needed
• Contribute to whole-school development and wider leadership initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Religious Education
• Proven ability to manage behaviour effectively in a secondary setting
• Experience in curriculum planning and development
• The confidence to lead, manage, and support staff
• High expectations of pupils and a commitment to inclusive education

Previous leadership experience is desirable, but applications from ambitious teachers ready to step into a leadership role are also welcome.
