Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

About the Role

Long Term Futures is working with a well-respected secondary school in Westminster to appoint a committed Pastoral Assistant. You will support pupils' social and emotional development through one-on-one support, small group instruction, and active engagement with school life.

This role involves working closely with teaching staff, the pastoral team, and external agencies to implement effective behaviour management strategies and contribute to progress monitoring and lesson planning. You will be instrumental in promoting inclusion, attendance, and emotional resilience, especially for students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support and run small group instruction for students needing extra pastoral care.
• Support students with emotional regulation and day-to-day well-being.
• Assist staff with behaviour management across the school.
• Contribute to progress monitoring through tracking and reporting pupil engagement.
• Participate in lesson planning to inform strategies that support pupils' wider development.

• Experience supporting young people in an education or pastoral setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour.
• A sound understanding of pastoral care, behaviour management, and inclusion.
• A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to student support.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse learners and contribute to a supportive environment.
