Automation Maintenance Engineer

• Job Type: Full-time (Fixed Days) - 08:00 - 16:00

Join our team as an Automation Maintenance Engineer, responsible for the routine, proactive, and reactive maintenance of machinery within our manufacturing areas. This role offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with paid breaks.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Machinery Maintenance:

  • Perform maintenance tasks across various departments including Automation Assembly, Cast Iron Spray-Shop, Fabrication, FloFit Production, Regrind, and Injection Moulding.
  • Conduct regular servicing to maintain machine efficiency and quality.
  • Manage tool changes in automatic machinery according to the production schedule.
  • Monitor machinery performance, adjust settings to meet company specifications, and maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Maintain a stock of essential spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee contractors working on machinery in the Automation or Production departments.

• Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Maintain machinery with a focus on safety.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure high standards of housekeeping.
  • Report any health and safety issues to the Team Leader or Manager.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and proper use of PPE.

• Communication:

  • Report equipment issues and breakdowns to the Automation Engineering Team Leader or Manager.
  • Keep the Production Planner informed of any disruptions, providing estimates for issue resolution.
  • Communicate any absence from work at least one hour before the shift starts.

• Other Duties:

  • Provide flexible support to the department, covering for absences and working overtime as needed.
  • Work independently or as part of a team without constant supervision.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or HNC.
• Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a maintenance team.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems and industrial automation.
• Desirable: Experience in 6-axis robot programming (ABB, Staubli, KUKA) and PLC programming (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley).
