Are you passionate about food and supporting students in a creative, hands-on learning environment?A thriving secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated and organised Food Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a long-term, full-time basis starting 3rd November.

About the Role:As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and students during practical food lessons. You'll help prepare materials and ingredients, maintain equipment, and ensure that lessons run smoothly and safely. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, educational setting and takes pride in creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, organise, and maintain ingredients and equipment for practical food lessons.

• Support students and teachers during practical sessions.

• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the food preparation areas.

• Monitor stock levels and order supplies as required.

• Assist with displays and departmental resources.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a food or catering environment (school experience desirable).

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.

• A proactive, reliable, and flexible attitude.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
