Art Teaching Assistant - SEMH School

Hours: Full-time

Pay: Competitive, depending on experience

Remedy Education is working with a specialist SEMH school in East London that is looking for an Art Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school.

This role would suit someone creative, confident and experienced in supporting children or young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The Role

• Supporting pupils during Art lessons and creative activities
• Working 1:1 and with small groups
• Helping pupils remain engaged and regulated in lessons
• Supporting behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
• Preparing art materials and classroom resources
• Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team

Requirements

• Previous SEMH experience is essential
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour
• A genuine interest or background in Art
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Calm, resilient and patient approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
