About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Working Foreman / Site Manager to join a specialist construction contractor delivering Heritage & Conservation projects.

The successful candidate will oversee and manage a variety of heritage projects across Central London, taking a hands-on leadership role in the restoration, conservation, and structural adaptation of historic and listed buildings.

This position requires close collaboration with site teams, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with health and safety regulations.

This is an opportunity to work with a leading heritage contractor renowned for its expertise in the conservation, repair, and adaptation of historic buildings. Operating across London and the South West, the company works on some of the most architecturally significant structures in the country.

Due to continued growth, a Working Foreman / Site Manager is required to take on a hands-on managerial role, combining both practical skills and site management. Candidates with trade experience in carpentry, masonry, or general building will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise site teams on heritage restoration and conservation projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the quality of workmanship, maintaining project records where necessary.
  • Manage project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Review and interpret design documents, identifying any necessary revisions or changes.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, site managers, and external teams.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a Foreman or Site Management role, ideally within heritage or conservation projects.
  • A background in traditional bricklaying, masonry, or general building (preferred but not essential).
  • CSCS , SMSTS and First Aid certification
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and passion for heritage conservation.
  • Organisational skills, reliability, and computer literacy.
