Reed Engineering is currently working with a leading manufacturing firm to recruit a Production Manager with good knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing. This role is pivotal in leading and managing the production team on the shop floor, ensuring the quality of work is maintained at all levels, production meets target/quantity levels, and customer needs and expectations are met and managed effectively.Day-to-day of the role: - Planning and Scheduling: Develop production plans, set schedules, estimate timelines and costs, and implement an ERP system to manage traceability and the manufacturing process. Conduct weekly production meetings to communicate targets and manage team outputs.
- Process Management: Monitor and control production processes, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
- Resource Management: Manage the budget, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure optimal use of materials, equipment, and labour.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff, providing training and development opportunities.
- Quality Control: Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure that quality issues are raised, quarantined, and managed effectively.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production problems, optimise processes, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare production reports, communicate with other departments and stakeholders, and provide updates on production status to customers, particularly regarding any foreseen delays.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in production processes, implement new technologies, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation and Working Time Regulations.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
Additional Information: - Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on level of experience and relevant industry experience
- Working hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-13:00
