SEN tutor-must know Makaton

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring using Makaton to support language development and learning.

• Adapt lessons and materials to meet the individual needs of the learner.

• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the learner to encourage engagement and progress.

• Work closely with parents/carers (and other professionals if needed) to ensure a consistent and supportive learning approach.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Makaton (preferably Level 2 or higher).

• Experience working with children or individuals with communication difficulties.

• Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to plan engaging and structured sessions tailored to individual needs.
