We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join an established main contractor based in Reading. The business is one of the largest privately owned main contractors in the UK with a group turn over of over 1bn, undertaking projects across a range of sectors including education, commercial, mixed use residential and research & development valuing up to 80mil. Projects are a mix of single and two-stage tenders and many are procured via various frameworks.

About the role of Estimator:

As Estimator, you will be working closely with the rest of the pre-construction team to compile competitive bids. You will be able to tender projects independently and offer assistance to the junior members of the team. You may also be required to work with other Estimators on larger, more complex bids.

Key Responsibilities as Estimator:

• Work from first principles
• Independently tender projects valuing up to 20mil.
• Work collaboratively with Surveying and Operational teams to produce competitive tenders
• Support and mentor junior members of staff

Key Requirements as Estimator:

• Track record of successfully tendering schemes valued up to 20mil
• Experience with competitive tendering and negotiated schemes
• Experience with single and two-stage tenders.
• Live within a commutable distance to Reading and be happy to travel to office and site when required
• Have the full right to work in the UK
