In this varied role, you'll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, breakdowns, and repairs of mobile and fixed plant, HGVs, trailers, and ancillary equipment. You'll also support with PMI inspections, welding and fabrication tasks, and help maintain the overall operational availability of equipment across our busy sites.
Tyre-fitting experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out repairs, servicing and maintenance to mobile and fixed plant, including fault diagnosis and analysis.
Support static plant PPM schedules.
Assist with HGV and trailer repairs, including PMI inspections and pre-MOT checks.
Lead or support tyre-fitting, including repairs, replacements, and roadside breakdowns.
Perform welding works (MIG/TIG/fabrication) on plant, trailers, and containers.
Respond to occasional call-outs for breakdowns and emergency repairs.
Skills & Experience
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and rectify faults.
Minimum 3 years' experience or equivalent Level 3 NVQ qualification.
Irtec accreditation is desirable (training can be provided).
Proven experience repairing plant machinery, HGVs, and trailers.
MIG/TIG welding experience essential (coded welding qualification preferred).
Manual dexterity and high attention to detail.
A positive attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Experience within the waste industry is advantageous.
Must supply own tools aligned with industry standards.
Immediate start preferable.

What We Offer
Starting salary of £40,000 per annum (depending on experience), rising to an OTE of £48,000 per annum.
Hours : Monday-Friday (10-hour shifts, 50 hours/week)
Overtime : Weekend and out-of-hours available
Holiday : 20 days plus 8 statutory bank holidays
