Planner / Senior Planner

Are you a civil engineer / construction professional who got into planning and is now looking for a new change in your career?

I am working with a specialist groundworks and RC frames contractor who is looking to add a Planner to their London office. The role involves effective portfolio planning and programming of a project using ASTA. As the Planner, you will report to the Operations Manager, aswell as sit in meetings with the board of the project, ensuring that all planning procedures are implemented in accordance with programme strategy and client governance. What will make candidates stand out is their ability to liaise with the site team and understand TQ's and realistic delays to projects which in effect will keep the programme as accurate as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays
• Ensuring the review of progress, forward planning, and lookahead programmes are carried out
• Identifying risks
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans using ASTA, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and timelines
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to assist with project planning and execution
• Provide expert planning support and guidance on contract requirements
• Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree or certificate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• A UK driving license
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC form of contracts
• Experience of ASTA Projects
• Expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes
• Experience of Earned Value Management desirable but not essential
• Experience of working on cut and carve projects
