Head Chef
£50k - 55k per annum
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and innovative Head Chef for our new Restaurant opening in St Paul.
As the Head Chef, you will be fully involved in the development of the food offer and how the menu evolves. You will be working alongside the owners in running the kitchen and executing recipes precisely. As this is a brand-new venture, flexibility is vital as is the need to adapt quickly to any changes that make occur. As the head chef, you will oversee the daily food preparation, you will be supervising and coordinating the food preparation process. You must have a high level of attention to detail, good management skills and ensure that kitchen regulation, sanitary and safety guidelines are in place.
Our ideal candidate would:
Be at Head Chef level with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in fine dining
Ideally have worked in a busy restaurant
Be a strong team player with the ability to work well with colleagues
Be flexible and willing with the ability to adapt quickly to changes
Have an eye for detail and presentation
Ability to work under pressure
Job responsibilities:
Controlling and directing the food preparation process
Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
Being responsible for food hygiene practices
Polishing and Checking the quality of dishes before they reach the customer
Completion of all kitchen based paperwork and compliance with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness and COSHH.
