Chief Executive
Housing Association, North London. Permanent, £70,000 pa, 4 days per week.
Causeway are an innovative and independent housing association based in North London. Founded in 1986, to provide low cost housing to young Irish people seeking work in London we have developed into a specialist housing association and Community Benefit Society. We provide homes, a community and support for single homeless people in London. People can access our services regardless of where they come from.
We are immensely proud of our services. We are the largest provider of LGBT supported housing in the UK. We provide supported housing to young refugees and care experienced young people, and a specialist accommodation service for adults with mental health needs. We provide people with a roof over their heads but we know that a secure and stable home requires more than this, so we equally value community, well-being, and learning.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a unique and interesting organisation where you can see your ideas become reality. We have a strong staff team who are committed to their work, the organisation and its residents. Our Management Committee is friendly and supportive, and its members are generous with their time and knowledge in helping to ensure that the highest standards are maintained across the organisation.
Innovation has been the cornerstone of our development and success. The Chief Executive and Committee regularly convene strategy days to evaluate our work and plan for the future, welcoming all ideas for enhancing our services, reaching new people, and addressing emerging needs. Looking forward we want to develop a continuous pipeline so that we have new contracts coming on stream, as former contracts come to their end date. Thanks to contract wins and investment in staff development and training, we have developed a considerable expertise in housing and supporting young refugees. We intend to tender for far more of this work as we know we do it well.
We are looking for an experienced leader operating at a senior level within a £2million+ turnover charity, corporate or housing organisation. Collaboration, business planning, development of staff and services, along with a strong financial grasp are essential, plus experience working with board members or trustees. The Chief Executive will act as Company Secretary and ensure all statutory returns and legal documents are produced and maintained.
We are looking for candidates with a demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, particularly for young migrants and LGBTQ+ young people. As well as a great place to work, we offer a competitive salary, plus excellent pension and other benefits, a 4 day week and some hybrid working.
