Job Description:
As a Gas Repair Field Operations Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas appliances and systems within residential properties. Your role will be essential in ensuring that gas safety standards are met and that tenants have reliable, safe heating and hot water systems. You will work across a variety of properties, providing high-quality repair services in a responsive and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair faults in gas heating systems, appliances, and associated pipework in social housing properties.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency gas repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants.
- Conduct gas safety checks and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Work closely with the housing management and customer service teams to schedule repairs and ensure tenant satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of all repair work completed, including materials used and time spent.
- Provide tenants with guidance on gas safety and usage of their gas appliances.
- Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations, gas safety standards, and company procedures.
- Participate in on-call duties as required for emergency repair work.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure smooth and efficient repair services.
Skills & Experience:
- Valid Gas Safe Certification (essential).
- Proven experience in gas repair work, particularly in domestic heating systems and appliances.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in diagnosing and repairing gas-related issues.
- Knowledge of gas safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with tenants.
- A full UK driving license is essential.
- Experience in social housing or public sector environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, field-based role.
