Speech And Language Therapist

Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique independent SEN group based in London, that provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational / neurodiverse learning needs (SEN).

They are seeking to appoint a qualified and HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to join their growing therapeutic provision within their residential day school based in East London, on a permanent contract basis and to start as soon as possible (Dependent on availability).

You will be linked to their residential day school, whilst supporting and elevating the wellbeing of highly vulnerable young people through their specialist online therapy practice. Their online therapy service provides expert support, collaborating with educational and pastoral staff, to ensure the effective delivery of therapeutic education, bespoke interventions and unique learning opportunities for neurodiverse pupils who have a range of complex needs, and who demonstrate behaviours linked to trauma. Pupils are encouraged to find and express their creativity and provided opportunities to achieve awards, alongside traditional subjects, as they move from dependence on others to independence through therapeutic interventions

The young people within their therapeutic education services have a history of being let down by education settings, with their needs and behaviours misunderstood. Many pupils have experienced tier 3 or 4 traumas, are at high risk of aggressive or sexualised behaviour, complex offending, gang affiliation, attachment disorders, complex physical, psychological, and healthcare needs.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Proven track record working with highly complex and high-risk children with neurodiverse identities, including those with SEMH / ASC, and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
• Minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience.
• HCPC registered
• Ability to plan and organise own workload, working flexibly and creatively.
• Experience of coaching staff to improve their practice.
• High level of experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working.

Salary offered: 43,000 - 55,000 (Dependent on experience)
