The school

Primary & secondary age special school which caters for children experiencing communication and interaction difficulties. All of the pupils at our school have severe and complex needs, and the majority of our children do not ever meet the early years expectations typical for a child going into year 1. Our main focus is on communication and regulation, and we use the following approaches: EQUALS / SCERTS / Total communication / Low arousal

It is expected that the vast majority of our pupils have a diagnosis of ASD alongside other difficulties such as global delay, ADHD and Dyspraxia.

The school offers these children a smaller group setting with plenty of space, with a specialised curriculum and teaching methods to address their needs and make a positive learning experience.

Primary trained or SEND trained teacher for a key stage 1 class (EYFS level)

Non-verbal ASD children

Maternity cover for 12 months April 2025 start

Small class sizes 6-8 students with 3-4 teaching assistants in each class

SEND allowance

The person

Will hold QTS or equivalent

Relocation bonus

Primary curriculum knowledge and preferable experience

Able to commit 5 days a week for the duration of the contract
