Junior Laboratory Technician (Graduate or College Leaver)

Position Title: Junior Laboratory Technician (Graduate or College Leaver)

Duration: 6 Month Rolling Contract

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Pay: 13.30 per hour PAYE

Full Training Provided - Would be ideal for a College A-Level leaver or Graduate with a science related qualification.

Responsibilities:

• Working in different laboratories as demand requires
• Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
• Perform a range of basic routine analysis, product manufacturing and sample preparation under supervision of a senior member of staff.
• Perform laboratory tasks following specified methodologies, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
• Use of specified instrumentation and laboratory equipment, including calibration where required.
• Produce reliable, accurate data and keep accurate records of laboratory work undertaken and results.
• Follow product formulations and methods considering standard operating procedures and food safety to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing.
• Operate basic lab and manufacturing equipment as directed.
• Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory's LIMS system, Q-Pulse, etc.
• Perform admin and housekeeping duties as directed.

Qualifications:

• A levels in a scientific discipline would be preferred
