We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our educational team in Lewisham. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive tailored assistance that promotes their learning and development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide one-on-one support to a student with special educational needs, adapting to their individual learning requirements.
- Assist in the implementation of educational and behavioural plans set by the lead teacher.
- Facilitate communication between the student and others, helping to integrate them into classroom activities.
- Monitor and support the student's progress and well-being throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student's education and care.
- Manage any necessary educational materials and resources that support the student's learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role, particularly in a 1:1 setting with SEN students.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and the strategies that assist in their education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
