We are seeking an Engineering Lecturer to join a great team. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, relevant teaching, learning, and assessment in Engineering, enabling students to maximise their educational and personal development potential. The successful candidate will ensure that learning is engaging and interactive, creating the best possible outcomes for our learners.

Engineering Lecturer
  • Annual Salary: £25-£40ph
  • Location: South London
  • Job Type: Part-time 14 hours pw
  • Type: Ongoing temp - term time only
  • Hours 9:00am -17:00pm
Day-to-day of the role of an Engineering:
  • Deliver the Engineering curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies, including digital technologies.
  • Adopt appropriate learning strategies considering intended learning outcomes and the characteristics and needs of the learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students and respond appropriately to their needs.
  • Ensure appropriate student participation in the teaching and learning process in classes, engaging exercises, case studies, etc.
  • Ensure that the learning outcomes are efficiently and effectively delivered.
  • Ensure that curriculum content, learning materials, and curriculum delivery celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Participate in the development of the curriculum ensuring that its content is relevant and current.
  • Promote and contribute to cross-curricular work in the College, working collaboratively with all School areas and sharing best practice.
  • Contribute to programme submissions ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that the curriculum meets the requirements of validating and awarding bodies.
  • Engage and contribute to the implementation of the College's SAR and Quality Improvement Plans through constructive feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Level 3 or other relevant professional qualification in Engineering.
  • Appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Experience of teaching Engineering across a variety of levels.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current practice and ability to deliver a current curriculum.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills, applying digital technologies to learning.
  • An awareness of the needs of students in post-16 education, including knowledge of student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Demonstrable ability to participate in curriculum planning, coursework design, and moderation.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes in FE.
