Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Injection Mould Tool Setter to join a well-established manufacturing business within the plastics industry. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of the mould shop, meeting production targets, and maintaining high-quality output.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining injection moulding machines and tools, troubleshooting process issues, and supporting continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Responsibilities

Set up, start, and shut down injection moulding machines and ancillaries according to company procedures and safety standards

Perform tool changes and machine conditioning in line with job packs and SOPs

Carry out material and colour changes as required

Ensure first-off samples meet specification before full production starts

Complete accurate production and downtime records

Diagnose and resolve moulding and machine performance issues using scientific moulding techniques

Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on moulding machines and ancillary equipment

Support tool and material trials

Work within 5S, SMED, Kaizen, and Health & Safety frameworks

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on PPAP, CPK, CI projects, and new product introductions

Requirements

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Injection Moulding (or equivalent)

Skills & Experience: Hands-on experience with injection moulding machine setup and troubleshooting

Good mechanical and hydraulic knowledge

Capable of performing basic tool insert changes and repairs

Familiarity with lean manufacturing and quality systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015)

Strong awareness of health, safety, and welfare practices
