The role & about the client:

ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a respected family-run contractor for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a range of exciting civil and construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking to take full ownership of project finances while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking business.

With a strong pipeline of secured work across Berkshire and surrounding counties, this role offers long-term progression, autonomy, and the chance to work in a collaborative team environment that values growth and mentorship.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects from procurement through to final account

• Prepare and submit accurate monthly client valuations

• Produce detailed cost reports and cash flow forecasts

• Price variations and manage change control processes

• Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor packages

• Conduct regular site visits and support project delivery teams

• Ensure timely and accurate payments in line with contractual obligations

• Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure financial targets are achieved

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or specialist contracting

• Strong knowledge of commercial management and construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT)

• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Full UK driving licence

• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results
