Mechanical Assembly Technician

A leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment based in Dorking, Surrey is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their high-performance production team.This is a hands-on role requiring precision, focus, and a solid foundation in mechanical engineering techniques (and ideally CNC or manual machining knowledge).You'll be assembling both complete devices and intricate sub-assemblies, contributing directly to the build quality of industry-leading instrumentation.Key Responsibilities:Complex mechanical assembly of full units and sub-componentsDrilling, tapping, helicoil installation, and push-fit component integrationPrecision fettling and finishing to exacting standardsWorking from detailed engineering drawings and build instructionsCollaborating with production and engineering teams to ensure quality and consistencyWhat We're Looking For:Proven experience in mechanical assembly or engineering environmentsStrong manual dexterity and attention to detailFamiliarity with precision tools and techniquesAbility to interpret technical documentationA proactive, quality-driven mindsetHours & Benefits:Monday to Thursday: start at 6:00 or 7:00 AM, finish at 2:30 or 3:30 PMFridays: 5-hour day, finishing at 11:00 AM or 12:00 noonCompetitive salary: £37,000-£42,000, based on experienceSupportive team environment with opportunities for growthFull-time, permanent positionIf you take pride in precision and want to be part of a company that values craftsmanship and innovation, we'd love to hear from you.
